NTV-Plus Rolls Out 3-D TV Channel in Russia

Russian DTH operator NTV-Plus has launched a 3-D TV channel in Russia, the company announced Oct. 15.
NTV-Plus’ 3-D channel launch makes Russia the second market after the United Kingdom (BSkyB) to launch dedicated satellite TV broadcasts in 3-D. Operators Sky Deutschland, Foxtel and DirecTV have announced 3-D TV initiatives and channels.
“Though there is little ready-made material to start from, there are some films, music ads and sports programs in 3-D. As the 3-D market develops at a fast pace, we expect much more 3-D produce to be supplied by the end of the year,” NTV-Plus Spokesman Petr Lekarev said in a statement.
